Created with uniqueness from the onset - large drums were detuned to varying low-frequency tones, played with everything from mallets to sticks to braided wire, and recorded with an overkill of room mics. This ensured that the samples communicate delicate taps just as much as large roomy hits. Furthermore, the percussion loops were played through a physical reverb space before coating with hardware effects and saturation.
